Definition — Buyer Search Intent
Buyer search intent describes what a query is trying to accomplish — learn, compare, or buy — and informs page type and template depth.
In manufacturing, “intent” often encodes spec depth:
- “what is 17‑4 PH stainless” → informational, glossary
- “17‑4 PH machining service” → evaluative, capability page
- “17‑4 PH shaft 12mm quote” → transactional, product variant or RFQ
Align templates and CTAs to intent, not brand slogans. Make the next step obvious: CAD download, datasheet, sample request, RFQ, or talk to engineering.
